Renewal of Motor Vehicle License (Road Tax)

The public may renew the Motor Vehicle License (commonly known as Road Tax) by submitting renewed insurance and payment according to the type of vehicle. Applications can be made via a public ID at the JPJ portal, State RTD / Branch, UTC JPJ Counter, e-Service kiosk and Pos Malaysia Post Office (PMB) network.

The renewal of the Road Tax is allowed two months earlier than the end of the Road Tax for a minimum period of 6 months up to a maximum of 1 year. If the vehicle's road tax is not renewed for more than one year, the vehicle must be transported to the PUSPAKOM for a vehicle inspection report (b2).

Thereafter, the participant / representative shall be present to the office of JPJ together with the b2 report, the original registration of the original vehicle and the payment for the purpose of renewal of the road tax.

Vintage and Classic Vehicle Discount

The JPJ road tax system will classified the vehicle according to the year of manufacture in which 50 years is categorized as vintage vehicle (90% Road Tax exemption) and 25 year classic vehicle (80% Road Tax exemption). Please refer to the nearest JPJ Office for more information.
